bundesliga.com outlines the careers and key facts of the protagonists.

Career details

Born on October 18, 1983 in Salvador da Bahia, Brazil, Dante Bonfim Costa Santosstarted out on the path to stardom at EC Juventude in Caxias do Sul. He made the move to Europe as a 20-year-old and, following stints at Lille, Charleroi and Standard Liege (with whom he won the Belgian league in 2007/08), switched to Bundesliga outfit Borussia Monchengladbach in January 2009. Returning to fitness following an ankle injury, Dante quickly became a household name at Borussia Park, with the Foals staving off relegation one year and notching a fourth-place finish the next. That was enough to convince Bayern, who made their move for the unmistakable Samba star in the summer of 2012. Dante has featured 28 times in the Bundesliga this season and made his long-awaited international debut against England on Feburary 6, 2013.
